Lately, this channel, Fox Life, has monopolized my time in front of TV. From the incredibly beautiful places we get to see to the immediately appealing food items presented or the fun stuffs shown..
Everything about it attracts. It only leaves me wondering how enjoyable the anchors’ job should be. Though not all shows are as interesting as some, it is a go-to channel when you have absolutely nothing to do on a boring day.
There is this program, ‘Eat Street’.. OMG! I think I might even give a try at the non-veg items I never would have eaten in my life at any cost! 🙂 And ‘Made in Italy with Silvia Colloca’. I just love this anchor, Silvia Colloca. I am not very certain if I would like the taste. But the way she presents the show alone is enough to make me like her and the dishes she cooks. The preamble she gives every time for the show, like details on her birth place, Italy, its culture, the food habits and all that, makes me like my own country, for some reason, even more. I am sure she serves up the Italy rarely seen by the tourists.
All of which makes me wonder, why is it always, samosa, the chat items and the dirty streets, the only things shown every time when ‘India’ is mentioned. Where are the rest of the things that make India beautiful?! Particularly South India. And Chennai to be precise. I am not a Chennaite. After having spent five years of my life here, I should know there are many more beautiful things that constitute Chennai. There are a lot more things than they actually show. It is not always polluted. It not always unclean. Marina is not always dirty. Streets are not always crowded. And even if they are, it is bound to be so which serves as the haven to all the people who come here from every corner of North and South India, including me. The channel shows other countries in much good light than it shows India, I feel. Nevertheless, I know about India enough that I am happy seeing other countries!
The channel has made me sit through even the advertisements stock-still and that is a rarity 🙂
