Home Movie Days!

December 26, 2017

Its been a while since a day was well spent. Everything seems interesting when something has a deadline nearing and my tail is on fire. I would vow to manage time better the next time only to end up doing the same thing again. And so, here I am having not enough time to eat and sleep on repeat mode for ten days in a row. Only a very few can master the art of spending the whole day doing nothing still finding 24 hours a day not enough!

And its been really long time since I have watched new films. I do not find the patience these days to sit through for more than two hours for a film. But this vacation is full of movie that I have missed watching over months now. Starting with a good breakfast and a hefty lunch and with a lot of the barbie movies and the tinker bell series, the end-of-day movie was Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. It was quite an unexpected, good cop story. A bloody but a good watch. While I generally watch a movie based on the reviews, I started watching it with zero info on it before. If a movie is surprisingly good when you had no absolute expectation from it, that means it is a sure hit!

A couple of days before, when we decided to have a movie time, my sister chose ‘Chennaiyil oru naal 2’, whose existence we were unaware of. It was a terrible mistake. There is a reason why a movie fails to impress the audience !! We expected it to be at least as half decent as its first part, only to realize that it was never released. It hardly has a story line; only ‘Jangri’ (a term I use when it has no content).

It was just like another day of this vacation, that my sister came up with this movie to watch from a long list. What really piqued my interest was that it is based on a series of crimes that happened back in the year 1995 and a few happened real close to home! It is spine chilling to even think that it really happened once and the story elaborates on the ordeal that the TN police had to go through to catch the culprits, when the technology was barely there. It doesn’t have great twists or mystery but enough to keep me glued to the seat (or sofa!). I ended up reading all about the movie and real story behind it once the film was done!

And now, I am back on the Barbie and Tinker Bell movie marathon! 🙂

Have a fun vacation, all!! 🙂 🙂
